Spilling your guts

The phrase "spilling your guts" is Australian slang for "telling what you know", or "coming clean".
People are spilling their guts all over the place these days. Reality TV. Celebrity interviews. Blogs.
There is more to hear, see and read about people than you ever wanted to know. It seems everyone out there wants to be in the spotlight, exposing their private lives and thoughts.
Yet the same people are also in the grip of "privacy paranoia". They're scared that someone in a company might know something about them, like what they like to eat, or what movies they've seen. People demand that governments stop companies keeping files on them.
But still they love to spill their guts.
I think that's hilarious. They let these people elect governments, too.
