Politics of the Day

Aloha Everyone,
It's another beautiful day here in Hawaii nei.Still a little cloudy and overcast but still very pleasant. It's starting to get cooler as we get closer to our hawaiian winter. That means a little lower change of temperture throughout the islands.Instead of high 70's we might have lower 70's with a bone chilling 68 degrees thrown in there somewhere. The political scene here is starting to ignite all of the partisan players vying for the peoples precious votes. This state is primarily democratic and has some heavyweight senators and congressmen in Washington. His honorable Senator "Dan Inouye" and "Daniel Akaka "are in the capitol with extended tenure, due to the votes of the people. They both hold very respectable positions in commitees that make important decisions involving millions of dollars.Senator "Inouye" normally assures that Hawaii gets it's fair share of monies to assist the military presence here in the islands. So that they are ready to be perform their duties in case of problems in the pacific. The military is essential for this state to survive, it creates alot of jobs for locals, either thru military home construction or the Naval Shipyard in Pearl Harbor. The military spending in the local economy helps quite a bit as well.We currently have a republican governor but her term is up and it seems as if a democratic ex-congressman"Neil Abercrombie" may become the new sheriff in town.He suggest a new change as his platform and has 20 years in the U.S. congress in his resume and has an educational background that helps him speak the language that parents want to hear when it comes to better educating their children. We shall see what happens, as far as I'm concerned, I'm glad the candidates name is not George Bush, that guy sucked. We have a new mayor, he used to be the old city prosecutor. He did a good job as a prosecutor, now we'll shall see if he is any good as a Mayor of Honolulu.General election is about a month away and we shall see what magic these politicians have up their sleeves.Hopefully their hands are quicker then our eyes, because I know most of the time their mouths are quicker than what they really can do for all of us poor taxpayers.  ALOHA!!
