“NOTHING TO LOSE”

— MID-SUMMER GUN DOWN — Doc Holliday took a sip of liquor and studied his cards during a game in a saloon he and a partner opened in Las Vegas, New Mexico. It was a hot night in mid-July 1879 and he was in no mood for distractions.

Minutes later, a heated argument arose between former Army scout Mike Gordon and one of Holliday’s dance hall girls.
