Monday Mottoes – #212

Unless you’re a really young person, most of us have some measure of life experience in our past. Good, bad or otherwise.

We face the daily decision to either look Forward and move forward, or look backward and move backward. Kind of like sharks who are never stationary, but always pressing forward.

Think about it: what makes you spring out of bed in the morning? Do you have Monday morning dread? Does it take a vacation or holiday to get the juices flowing? How about a self-initiated, creative project?

The key is to stop believing that history repeats itself. You need to change the dynamics. You. You are not helpless or hopeless.

Which brings us to today’s motto:

“See, when you drive home today, you’ve got a big windshield on the front of your car. And you’ve got a little bitty Rearview Mirror. And the reason the windshield is so large and the rearview mirror is so small is because what’s happened in your past is not near as important as what’s in your future.” ~ Joel Osteen

If you can learn from the past, you’re ahead of 90% of the rest of the population who continue to repeat negative behavioral patterns, while wondering why life is so difficult…. However, if you can also look forward to the future with a new outlook, new behaviors and new strategies, you will overcome and bypass every obstacle in your path.

Happy Monday, everyone!
