What is love??? Since I have never been in Love I can’t imagine it. But I have seen my friends in love. There are different types of people so different reactions to love. Let me explain the lot I have seen.
Now I have seen the puppy kind of love where the boy and girl can actually get lost in each others eyes… I do not know how it happens, how can u keep looking into some ones eyes for extended period of time. What do they see in each others eyes that u spend time doing that. Crazy in my opinion but I can be wrong.
Then there is this love which when gets over both parties are hurt etc etc and sleep with the persons picture under the pillow… or stare at it for extended lengths of time… really!!! How does a picture help. Pictures remind u off the good times spent, so going over old times for me doesn’t help…. It would bring back all the good memories and hurt more.
When do you know you are in love? People say that its when you can’t spend time away from the person, when you see the person everywhere (I would say you are going mad, because you are seeing things that are not actually there and should go to the doc). For me it sounds like a bad hindi movie or a typical mills and boon book.
There is another scenario which I came across recently!!! A boy proclaims his deep love for a girl who he has known all his life and managed to make his 2 years ago. Unfortunately for both of them they cannot spend enough time which each other because there are in different cities. So a long distance relationship even though it is hard, it is manageable for them. Then, 3 weeks ago he gets really close to one of his friends (here I would like to clarify that the friend is a girl). Then, they start hanging out more than usual, and obviously things start happening and attraction is just the next step. So being humans they give into their attraction and they (or maybe just she) fall in love. In all this let me remind you that the boy does have someone else he proclaims he already loves. So, they have a happy 3 weeks of spending most of their waking hours with each other. Now, the drama picks up, the girlfriend who is in a different city is giving the guy a hard time. So one day he wakes up and says he is going to see her as he needs to sort it out. He leaves his friend here, and goes there and realizes he loves his girl friend and his friend back home is sitting wit her shattered heart. Now, the analysis as I would like to see it, is simple, his physical and maybe his emotional wants were fulfilled by his friend, who like a fool gave her self up to him and ended up with a raw deal. Now, the question arises, will he have the guts to tell the girl friend he plans marry that he cheated on her. Will he tell her that he slept with someone else while he was still seeing her. Will he be honest? I can bet all my money on the fact that he won’t. I would understand on some level if he wasn’t really serious with his girlfriend, but the fact remains that he is serious with his girlfriend and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. When you know you want to spend your life with someone, why do you need someone else. What is this love? I really don’t understand it. I think I am good without this kind of love.
I still don’t know what will love be for me… will it hurt as much as it did for my friends, will it be as much as fun as it was for my friends?
They say ‘its better to have loved and lost, rather than never to have loved at all’. Sometimes I wonder if I am better off to have never loved yet, it saves me from the pain I have seen my friends go through.
