I’ve attempted something a little different this month! Below is the first, (of hopefully many), guest posts for my blog! Jacob from The Agape Co.(agape [ah-gah-pey]: the love of God for humankind), in the USA, has kindly written something for me this month. The duo travels the world together and shares what they have seen. Established in 2017, they create custom vacation plans for all types of travellers, within any budget.

Hello readers, my name is Jacob and I, along with my girlfriend Kestra, own The Agape Co. Have any of you ever seen the show, Vacations Gone Wrong? The general premise is that families leave for vacation, and lack of planning, or just bad luck, leads them into disastrous situations. From falling into the Grand Canyon to sinking cruise ships their vacations were certainly memorable but not what they’d signed up for. Kestra and I have spent years travelling the world together, so we know exactly how it feels when your vacation plan falls apart. From blizzards in Iceland closing the one Road around the island (and the one road to our next hotel), to constant rain on our trip to the beach in South Carolina, we’ve been on the wrong end of the “vacation” more times than we can count. So what do we do when our vacation isn’t going exactly how we’d hoped? We adapt, we wing it, we find joy in the rain!
Now I know that sounds incredibly vague, and that’s intentional, we’re going off our planned vacation script. For instance, in Florida, we had hoped to go swimming in the ocean but found that swimming in cold water wasn’t our best idea. Instead of laying back and wasting the gorgeous weather we found the best parasailing in Tampa Bay (seriously check it out and remember to subscribe!) In Iceland when the 120 mile per hour winds closed the road (AGAIN!) so we found our own way around the storm believe me it was as amazing as it looks! Even on our road trip out west I had the misfortune of going swimming in the absolutely freezing Lake Tahoe fully clothed, which was about as cold as it sounds.
Now I hope you found some joy out of these stories because looking back that’s all I feel. I was traveling the world with my amazing girlfriend, wandering and exploring in places I never would have without our first plan falling apart.
