สีสวาด: อ๋อ เค้า(เขา)เอาดินสอพองมาทาหน้าเล่นกันน่ะ
Si Sawat: Ah, they apply ‘Din-sor-pong’ to their faces to have fun.

วิเชียรมาศ: อะไรนะ!? ดินสอ มันพองได้ด้วยหรอ
Wi-chian maat: Say what? ‘Din-sor’-s can ‘Pong’?

สีสวาด: ดินสอไม่ได้พอง แต่ดินสอพองเป็นดินชนิดหนึ่งมีสีขาว เค้า(เขา)เอามาใช้ทาตัวทาหน้าอย่างแป้งได้
Si Sawat: ‘Din-sor’-s can’t ‘Pong’, but ‘Din-sor-pong’ is a type of clay that is white in color. People apply it to their body and face the way they do talcum powder.

วิเชียรมาศ: คุณแม่พี่ก้อยใช้ดินสอพองทาหน้าพี่ก้อยรึเปล่า เห็นหน้าพี่ก้อยข๊าวขาว
Wi-chian maat: Pee Goi’s mum applied ‘Din-sor-pong’ to Pee Goi’s face, right? I saw Pee Goi’s face looking really really white.

สีสวาด: คงใช้แป้งมากกว่ามั้ง เค้า(เขา)ใช้ดินสอพองละลายน้ำทาหน้ากันเล่นตอนสงกรานต์เท่านั้น
Si Sawat: It’s probably talcum powder, I guess. People dissolve ‘Din-sor-pong’ in water and then apply it to their face only during Song-graan.

วิเชียรมาศ: ชั้น(ฉัน)ใช้แป้งได้มั้ย(ไหม)หน้าจะได้ขาว
Wi-chian maat: Can I apply some powder? So my face will be white.

สีสวาด: อย่าเลย เดี๋ยวเป็นลิงหน้าวอก
Si Sawat: Don’t, or you’ll be a ‘Ling naa wok’.

ผู้บรรยาย: ดินสอพอง ไม่ใช่ดินสอ แต่เป็นดินสีขาวอย่างหนึ่ง ใช้ละลายน้ำทาหน้าทาตัวอย่างแป้งได้ ในปัจจุบันมักใช้เล่นกันในวันสงกรานต์
Narrator: ‘Din-sor-pong’ is not ‘Din-sor’, but is a type of white clay. It can be dissolved in water and applied to the face and body like talcum powder. Nowadays, it is used to have fun during ‘Song-graan’.

‘Din-sor-pong’ (ดินสอพอง) is a type of white clay derived from ‘marl’ limestone.

‘Din-sor’ (ดินสอ) means ‘pencil’ and ‘Pong’ (พอง) basically means ‘inflated / swollen’. In this episode, Wi-chian maat mistakenly thought that ‘Din-sor-pong’ (ดินสอพอง) literally meant ‘(an) inflated pencil’.

‘Ling naa wok’ (ลิงหน้าวอก) literally means ‘(a) monkey with an overly white face’ [one of the shades of meaning of ‘Wok’ (วอก) is ‘overly white’].

It is interesting to note that ‘Ling wok’ (ลิงวอก) means ‘(a) Rhesus monkey [scientific name: Rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta)]. Rhesus monkeys are small monkeys with pink faces that do not have any fur on them.
