วิเชียรมาศ: แน่(แน่ะ) เก้าแต้ม ไปเอาถุงเท้าใครมา
Wi-chian maat: Kao Taem! Whose sock have you got there?
เก้าแต้ม: ของใครก็ไม่รู้ตกอยู่ที่พื้น
Kao Taem: I don’t know whose it is. It was lying on the floor.
เก่ง: เห็นถุงเท้าของพี่มั๊ย(ไหม) หายไปข้างนึง(หนึ่ง)
Geng: Have you seen my socks? One ‘Kaang’ is missing.
ก้อย: ไม่เห็นจ้ะ
Goi: I’ve not seen it.
เก่ง: ว้า ต้องหาคู่ใหม่มาใส่แล้วหล่ะ
Geng: Sheesh! I’ll have to look for another ‘Koo’ to wear.
วิเชียรมาศ: เอ๋ ทำไมเมื่อกี้พี่เก่งเรียกถุงเท้าเป็น คู่ กับ ข้าง ล่ะ
Wi-chian maat: Hmm. Why did Pee Geng use ‘Koo’ and ‘Kaang’ when he was talking about his socks a moment ago.
สีสวาด: ถุงเท้าต้องมีสองข้าง รวมกันก็เรียกว่าคู่
Si Sawat: A pair of socks must have two ‘Kaang’-s, and together they are called a ‘Koo’.
วิเชียรมาศ: แล้วมีอะไรเป็นคู่อีกล่ะ
Wi-chian maat: So what else would come in ‘Koo’-s?
สีสวาด: ก็มีรองเท้า ตะเกียบ ช้อนส้อม อู๋ย อีกเยอะแยะ
Si Sawat: Well, there’s shoes, chopsticks, and forks and spoons. Ooh, there’s lots more.
ผู้บรรยาย: คู่ หมายถึงของสองสิ่งที่ใช้ด้วยกันหรือประกอบกัน ข้าง หมายถึงส่วนใดส่วนหนึ่งของสิ่งที่เป็นคู่
Narrator: ‘Koo’ means two things that are used together or together make up something. A ‘Kaang’ means a ‘side’ or ‘part’ of something that is a ‘Koo’.
แมวทั้งสามตัว: แล้วพบกันใหม่นะครับบบ (ครับ)
All Three Cats: See you again next time!

A ‘Koo’ (คู่) means ‘(a) pair’.
A ‘Kaang’ (ข้าง) means a ‘side’ or ‘part’ of something that is a ‘Koo’ (คู่).
Both ‘Koo’ (คู่) and ‘Kaang’ (ข้าง) are classifiers (see: dek.cc/thai).
