Let me start by saying that many people have it worse than Tashina and me. Across the world people are suffering. Here in Northern California people have already lost everything. Many families have lost people they love… Tashina and I are physically okay. We evacuated our home in Sonoma (with all four cats) on Monday morning due to our housemate’s health conditions… About 20 minutes after we left, our neighborhood was put on mandatory evacuation status. As I write this, there is fire activity less than 1½ miles from our home. Things are very uncertain for us and the reality that we may not have a house to return to is beginning to set in… Luckily for us we have friends to stay with in a city that has not been affected by the fires (other than the air quality). We have been able to buy supplies to take back into areas of Sonoma and Napa for those who need them… Many of you have donated money for supplies and Tashina and I have used that money to donate everything from blankets, towels, and clothing to shampoo, diapers, and other body care products among many other necessities… The recipients of […]
