Van Coke Kartel’s Final Tour
I first heard Van Coke Kartel on MK a few years ago. I was a bit skeptical about the new band. It wasn’t Fokopolisiekar; there was something a bit more experimental about the sound, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Then I went to my first Van Coke Kartel show, and everything changed. I enjoyed the rough performances and wild crowds, and began to religiously check their events to make sure I could go to every Van Coke Kartel show in or around Cape Town.
And now, about 10 years later, they just announced their split and final tour as Van Coke Kartel. Even though I expected it, it still feels as if an “era” is about to end. They will no doubt leave a legacy of uncompromising balls-to-the-wall rock ‘n roll music and electrifying performances that will be remembered for years to come.
So, now you will have one last opportunity to witness them in action on the Jägermeister presents: THE FINAL TOUR, which kicks off on 14th July.
