Typhoon BBT on Cambie Road, Richmond

On a Friday evening, Ben got a text from Arkensen after picking me up from work that his bus was way late for its regular schedule. So, we had to change our plan of eating out in Vancouver and went back to Richmond to pick Arkensen up.

After picking Arkensen up, we decided to go to Typhoon BBT for dinner since we were near that neighbourhood.

The restaurant was not too busy when we arrived around 6:30PM.

Arkensen ordered the Beef Shank and Tendons Noodle Soup.

The noodle was the broad type which I like, not that I’m having it. He likes his choice.

Ben ordered another Chef Special dish on the menu. It’s Three Sauce Chicken with Rice.

The Three Sauce Chicken was excellent with lots of flavour from the ginger and garlic.

I can just have the ginger, garlic and basil with rice and be satisfied. The chicken in this dish had been deep fried i.e. it’s crispy on the outside.

I ordered a Sesame Oil Chicken Hotpot which is another Taiwanese specialty. Besides chicken, there were various types of meatballs, cabbage, enoki mushroom and bok choy in it. It is served on a flame to keep it hot.

The hotpot is served with steam rice and some Taiwanese BBQ sauce for dipping the meat balls and chicken.

Instead of flavouring the chicken with the BBQ sauce, I mopped up the Three Sauce Chicken sauce instead which has more flavour.

Typhoon BBT accepts cash only.

We will certainly revisit this place.
