Danny’s Market which is located on Garden City Road and Francis Road is a popular convenience Store for the nearby McRobert’s High School students. Teachers sometimes brought the students to the convenience store for a cold treat on hot spring days.

It is a sad day that the store is closing today, a loss for the neighbourhood.

Danny’s Market had won several Best Corner Store award from the annual Best of Richmond survey from Richmond News.

Danny’s Market is well known for its screamer, created by Abbas Danny Khataw in year 2000.

Since the news of the store closing, many customers have returned to have a last taste of their childhood memories.

Screamer starts with a dollop of their homemade soft serve vanilla ice cream top with your choice of slushie and more ice-cream on top. It is enjoyed with a jumbo straw like those you find in bubble tea shop.
