KL 2017 Mini Malaysia

My sister and I went for an overnight trip to Melaka.

We stopped for tea at Ayer Keroh Restoran Jejantas, one of the few that exists in Malaysia. It’s a bridge across a highway that hosted some restaurants and shops.

Melaka is just about two hours drive from Puchong.

Since we arrived way before our check in time, we visited Mini Malaysia which is on the way to town center. Please note that foreign tourist pays more than double for an adult entry ticket.

There is a life bull cart at the parking lot for photography.

Customer service hostess dressed in Traditional costume.

Here are some of the photos taken of the traditional Malaysia houses of various states. Bamboo flooring is common.

Stair case carved from a log.

Traditional long house.

Traditional musical instruments.

All the traditional houses are on stilts for flood prevention.

There is even a theme park but they are not operational.

A traditional weaving machine.

A traditional house that links one house to another via a walk way. This allows more windows for air flow and lights and privacy.

Birds provide entertainment.

Pull cart is the traditional mode of transportation. The above is Malacca House. It is the most furnished and decorated one.

Bride and groom in traditional wedding dresses.

Bed is protected with mosquito net.

Traditional rattan household products.

In the Malacca house, there is a host selling cookies. We bought one of the pineapple cookie for RM1 (about CAD0.30).

Traditional game made of five stones. We used to play this game when we were young. However, we did not play with stone but we made little sacks filled with rice for a softer touch.

Another long house with a wide and long common area.

A kitchen filled with clay pots.

A typical village house with coconut trees.

We did not make the effort to look for the traditional Asean Houses because it was a really hot day.
