In today's world it can be really hard to disconnect from our ever-present technology and look someone in the eye long enough to really connect with them. To talk about what is going on in each others lives in person rather than through a social media status.

In an effort to shut out distractions and tune into an important relationship with a good friend we scheduled a class at Pinot’s Palette and arranged for babysitters. By grabbing a paintbrush and creating a work of art together (without our phones) we were able to relax, laugh, and catch up.

I highly recommend committing to leaving your phone at home or at least in your purse during your paint and sip. Pinot’s Palette has a bank of cubbies right in your eye line for keeping personal items safe and paint free.

Everything was simple and easy regarding our painting session, from setting it up and paying online right on through to the finished product. Even if you don’t consider yourself an artist you will be tickled to find out how nicely your artwork turns out with easy steps from your instructor.

Our class was 2 hours long and got several breaks throughout the class to stretch and walk around while some of the paint dried.

Instructions were simple and we were amazed as we watched some simple brushstrokes actually turn into something!

Not only did we have a great time encouraging and sometimes laughing at each others artistic attempts but we left with memories AND a painting to hang in our homes that we will cherish.
