Dinner at Liwan Restaurant

For my first food trip in Dubai for 2016, we had it at Liwan Restaurant. Mark took me out on a dinner date to Liwan Restaurant one Friday night, special thanks to the dinner voucher that Al Ghurair Rotana gave him. :p

We've both been to the restaurant and have already experienced their buffet during Iftar, which we both liked by the way, so I was more than excited when Mark brought me back for another dinner buffet.

Lamb Kebab

Chicken Biryani and Chicken Tikka

Unlike the Iftar buffet with an extensive lavish spread, the dinner buffet, though still complete (from salads and appetizers, to mains, desserts, and breads), had fewer choices. It wasn't a let down for me and was somehow more of an advantage as I didn't have a hard time thinking of what to have. :D

As with all the buffets that we've been to, as always, Mark started his meal with his favorite sushi. :p

He then got Chicken Biryani, Roasted Lamb, and Lamb Kebab for his mains, and then went back to the sushi section for another round, before finishing off with a dessert plate of mostly chocolates.

The Choco- Banana Cakes were our favorite! These fluffy banana cakes with alternating layer of dark chocolate ganache topped with dark choco ganache kiss and gold dusted malt balls definitely won our hearts and our palates!

Choco-Banana Cakes

I was away from the local food here for almost a month and I must say that I've missed it too so I indulged in my favorite Arabic specialties for dinner. I helped myself to some Lamb Kebab, Chicken Tikka, Vegetable Couscous, and Tabbouleh. I missed them a lot that I had to have a second plate. :p

Oh I missed this! :D

My dessert plate was plain and simple with fresh fruits, red velvet cake, and choco-banana cake, after which I ended my feast with some hot cuppa green tea. :)

While the Iftar setup had that lively and festive vibe, the dinner buffet had more of a relaxed, romantic ambience, complete with dim lights and candle-lit tables, perfect for an intimate dinner. And just like in every Rotana facilities that I've been too, we again experienced exemplary customer service. Thank you for having us once again, Liwan Restaurant! :)
