Kinky....

Ok ok. I know what your thinking. Get your mind out of the gutter. Today I am talking about Kinky Curly Curling Custard. (available at Target stores). Last night I tried this product and I must say Its one of my favorites so far!! My Hair is shiny and curly with no frizz. It does take some effort to shingle it in, but the results are worth it!!

Shingle - To apply product one section at a time to your hair until all hair strands are coated with the product.

Curling custard has a nice light pleasant scent. It is not overpowering. I was supposed to use it with Kinky curly Knot today but Target was out of it. (the sales lady wouldnt go look in the back for anymore.) Smh... But anyway it turned out great. If you are natural or trying to go natural you know that you have to find products that work well for you. Everything that I try may or may not work for you. Don't be afraid to experiment. Recently I tried Carols Daughter Hair Butter. It works nicely on wet hair, but on my dry hair it was too heavy. I will be doing my next review on Miss Jessies Curly pudding. Here is a pic of my hair with the Kinky curly curling custard. My hair is 100% dry in this photo.

Here is a picture I took when it was damp.

As with all naturals I too have some struggles with my hair. I have found a routine that works perfectly for me. But I am having problems finding styles. I have never been good with hairstyles. I dont know how to cornrow or flat twist my hair. I wish I did though. If you would like to know what my hair regimin is I am posting it here.
Wash with conditioner or a NO SULFATE shampoo.
Detangle while hair is soaked with conditioner. (And yes I mean SOAKED) I use tons.
rinse it out and dont brush it anymore. from here on out it is finger styling ONLY. Unless you need the brush to "finish" a style.
Then I wear a wash and go by putting whatever leave in conditioner I choose. typically it will be Carols daughter Milk, Organics olive creme, or Carols Daughter Hair butter.
I hope this helps someone....
