The Changing

Change happens with time in varying circumstance sometimes forced sometimes chosen by us. Though the evolution of self with change is persistent, we usually miss the subtle changes as we progress in age. But I was able to chance upon a change in me which was drastic and game changing.

Though there must be a dozen more, they must be too subtle to be noticed by me.
Before divulging what? I would have to reveal a bit of my inner self to the world to make sense of my change.

I have this insatiable hunger to read all that captures my imagination. I try to be unbiased in this endeavour and have read various topics under the sun. My all time favourite is the un-explained and the unknown; it never fails to capture my attention ever. Apart from this, I had this almost insane urge to keep myself updated about the latest news. But off late I have stopped reading news, the thought of it even is so repulsive for me now, that I cannot express its feel. After all the news these days is only about deaths and disasters. I did start reading news early in my life, it was a habit I had picked up and never thought would drop it mid-way in life so it is quite a change for me.

Ever since the Arab spring began the newspaper now gives more bad news than good news. The people as they strive hard to break the shackles have become intrepid to take any obstacle thrown in their way of freedom more bravely than ever before. But this is resulting in more and more sacrifices by the people to earn their long due freedom. It some countries it is almost a blood bath with human life trivial than bacteria. The brimming anger will eventually burst out in an uglier way than expected, resulting in an exorbitant price for freedom. Is this what the people in power in those countries want? They are so desperately clinging to power to make it look pervert and despicable, the sorrows they have endowed on the populace can only be compensated by their exit.

Freedom indeed is a priceless gift which we citizens of great democracies have come to take lightly. This laxity is resulting in our leaders becoming corrupt and arrogant. Unless we as one face the truth and exercise our right of freedom and question any threat to democracy and our freedom; we may end up losing this priceless gift on the hands of unscrupulous politicians. Who know not any limits to their bottomless pits of greed and continue to feed those with we taxpayers hard earned money.

But as civil and responsible citizens we should address any and all of our concerns in a non-violent, peaceful but effective way. Failing which we may be the initiators of chaos, which is the last thing we want.

May the just one win and justice prevail.(Ameen)
