Where did my resistance go?

Tags: luck

Just like all the other things you will notice that you start to lose at my age, resistance to any kind of bug should be added to the list.
Used to be, I never got sick. Could work through any kind of sickness I did end up getting.
That would be back when I could go days on less than 5 hours sleep, work insane hours, forget to eat and be exposed to any kind of germ or virus (with 4 kids I am sure every germ possible was around) and still manage every meal, every errand and all the housecleaning without batting an eye.
Honestly, when I think of the things I have done, I wonder how the hell I ever did it.
Especially now, when lack of sleep or skipping a meal incurs such a high price. Days of recovery and I absolutely loathe being sick. Seems to be the norm lately. What the hell is wrong?

My youngest son (who was aware I was already not well), drank out of my glass on the weekend. He has the flu. And now so do I. Sometimes I think it is a very good thing that physically harming your children is against the law. I could strangle him.
Well, not really, he is bigger than I.
I am rather small – but I make up for it with my energy (except this week).
I feel like I’ve been dragged behind a truck for several miles on a dirt road that hasn’t been graded in as many years as I have been alive.
Really though, at fifteen, you would think he would know better.
To make matters even that much worse, I took medication for the flu-like symptoms and although it managed to relieve those symptoms while I slept, I woke up feeling like there were thousands of ants crawling all over me.
“Why” do you ask??
I must be allergic to the medication and there are hives all over my body.
Isn’t that fun…………omg.
The only luck I have is bad luck. Better off with no luck at all.
And when I told my Mom – “Oh my, you have such bad luck”.
I KNOW!
I feel like hiding out. I will be lucky if I don’t scratch to the point of scarring. Omg, there’s that word again. I should never use it.
If you want to know about luck – my sister is one of the luckiest people I have ever known.
It’s really quite sickening.
If she enters any kind of lottery, contest, draw, giveaway or gambles – she ALWAYS wins.
This explains everything to me.
She got all the luck for the whole bloody family. What should have been divided in six – she got it all. She laughs at me when I say this……..
In fact, just to try to seek revenge, maybe I will stop by for a visit on my way home and she can be lucky enough to catch my flu……….
Wish I was still in my 20’s because I don’t feel any wiser with age yet.
