I am in possession of Beneficial Nematodes!!! This means that I not only have fungus gnat killing backup, this means I now have an army!!!

I'm confident that this is the solution.





This is the powder you mix with water then drench the soil with. I'm going to have to try and find my clever hat because this is far more than I need but the smallest amount I could buy. This pack needs to be dissolved into 4 litres of water, then each 0.5 litres of that needs to be added to 5 litres of water. That's a lot of water. I need to break it down 😕😕😕

Or get my boy to, me and exact measurements don't really gel 😄

These have to be used in low light so I can't get started until this evening. It's not especially bright in here, not great for taking photos (you may notice my best are taken at night) but still light enough that this may not work and my goodness, this has got to work!

Interestingly, the plants on the shelf seem to have less gnats around them today which means that the Neem Oil must be working. I applied the second treatment last night. Still seems to be the same number of gnats around the salt lamp babies though, I guess maybe because it's warmer over there.

What I'm hoping is that the Beneficial Nematodes eradicate the adult fungus gnats and larvae and I'll use the Neem Oil every 3-4 days as further prevention from anything new coming in. The BN's are supposed to work for 18 months but as they're safe to use together I figure I may as well.

Talk about a learning curve! I've spent so much time thinking about bloody fungus gnats for the past few weeks, I've had enough of these things to last me several lifetimes 😷

Once mixed with the water and applied the Beneficial Nematodes should start working 24 hours later. It's going to be a weekend of gnat watch!
