How to survive working (and living) with your bestie

The picture to the left is of me and my best friend Marley.  (we are the female, three dimensional people in the photo).  We met our Sophomore year of college and became close friends pretty quickly.  We share an apartment (along with two other girls) and we also work together.
Sophomore year Marley and I were Seattle programmers on SEAC.  SEAC is an event planning council at my college, Seattle University.  Marley is literally the reason why I am on that council, and I have enjoyed every second of it.  It has been interesting however, figuring out how best to live and work together.  So, this is what i've learned:
1.  SET BOUNDRIES
don't talk about work at home, don't talk about home at work.  Seriously.  Setting boundaries will help keep your relationship fun, and not like your working all the time
2. Work on your work, at work
i hate that i just said "work" three times, but i can't think of another way to say this.  If you only work on your work at work, you won't be tempted to talk about it at home.
3. Respect each other's role
it may come to a point where one of you has a "higher" level job than you.  It'll only be weird if you let it.  Also, don't expect to be exempt from rules just because you are their friend.
4.It's personal even if you think it isn't
Because you two are friends, you won't really be able to be "professional" with each other.  Be aware that your words and actions have an impact.
5. Be careful about overstepping boundaries
Maybe in your personal life you two can speak for each other, or do each others jobs, or tease each other in front of people, but you just can't do this at work.  even if your work is super casual, you two are at work and you can't act like best friends anymore.
