Getaway

There is nothing but a surge of relief that engulfs you once the long and testing exams come to a close. Every ounce of every muscle in you merely wants to enter resting phase and not come back. An attitude shift takes the burden of survival off you and allows you to relish freedom and the sudden disappearance of a structured academic program.

The boredom is infectious. Binge eating is the new in thing. Nobody cares about how shabby you look provided you are willing to watch a movie or two with them or accompany them for a dinner often to an expensive place coz you don't care anymore.

The above strategy cannot possibly sustain you for more than a week and that is precisely why you plan a trip.

We decided to hit the west coast; Travel to Mangalore and up to Goa. A longer detour to Mumbai must have been even better but it was crucial that we spend some time at home while we still some.

As I lay awake at 7am in berth number 59, it is no surprise that the Train is three hours late. Those of us who were on the train had waited an hour at the station at Vellore yesterday. We switched between three strong topics of discussion ranging from politics to food choices. Almost 12 hours later the train hadn't picked up any speed and that did help us extend our nap to a slumber and finally lull into a full blown 7 hour sleep.

The train seems to be slowing down( it never really did speed up) now and I would be labelled as an indiscriminate  young man if I was caught typing on my phone while train eased it's way into the station.

à plus tard!
