GOLDEN ROSE COSMETICS: IS IT ANY GOOD?

Who doesn’t love makeup and trying out new products? This girl right here! However, all of this fun can really hurt your wallett. More and more I’ve decided to try smaller, less known or cheaper brands, not only the big companies that can sell tons of products.
I’ve always seen “GOLDEN ROSE” beauty products since I was a little girl in my country, however their cosmetics were not considered to be the best quality or at least that’s what I thought. Just couple weeks ago they opened a spot in our biggest shopping mall so I thought I give it a shot since so many Lithuanian beauty bloggers started using their lipsticks and other products.

GOLDEN ROSE is a Turkish company which is made by Erkul cosmetics and they have been in the beauty business for over 30 years which speaks trust-worthy. They make all kinds of makeup products including foundations, mascaras, lipsticks and etc. but they are most known for their nail polishes. Golden Rose cosmetics are sold in over 90 countries worldwide (Europe, the American continents, Asia, North Africa). It usually retails around low prices.

I tried to Google whether people liked their products or not but seriously there are no full English language reviews so I thought I give you a few.
Now let’s get back to the products. I’m not going to review a lot, however I decided to try a few makeup brushes and one of their foundations.

Let’s begin

First of, contender number 1 – ROUND FACE BRUSH. This brush retails around 7€ or $8. It is a large brush which mostly resembles a stippling foundation brush. On the packaging it says that it’s best for blending liquids and powders. I decided to use it for foundation. I always had trouble finding the right foundation brush because I just don’t feel that it’s right in order to have that flawless face you need to spend 20 bucks on a single brush.. I mean that’s just crazy!! Now this brush seemed like a great thing to try.

The brush hairs are synthetic and blend out just wonderfuly! It does give you good coverage and makes your Skin look smooth. There is a little hair fallout but nothing too crazy.

RECOMMEND THIS ONE AS HELL! Amazing for foundation, powders not so much.

Our second contender is their DUAL SIDED EYESHADOW BRUSH. This brush is meant to pack on shadows on your eye lid. The hairs mostly seem to be more natural rather than synthetic. On one side it has a flat brush and on the other – a smaller smudging brush. It retails around 5€ or $6.

I have tried this couple of times and gotta say that it does pack on matte shades pretty well but if you’re dealing with shimmers or even glittery shimmers – you will have to pack on and blend a little more.
Overall, I think this brush is good if you are on a budget and will help you create a cute look however if you’re looking for a perfect easy to blend option then perhaps you should invest in a better brush.

Last brush that I would love to take about and it makes me excited it their PERFECT CONTOUR BRUSH!

This contour brush is meant to blend out cream and powder contours. It retails around 15€ or 18$. It is a little more expensive than their other face brushes but I got all these brushes with 50% off because they had a opening sale so got lucky I guess.

Just as it is hard to find a good foundation brush, it’s the same with contour. If you have a bad contour brush then you look like a carrot with two streaks on the side of your face and that, my friends, ain’t cute.

I tried to blend Catrice “Prime and Fine” and Sleek contour powders and gotta say, with some legit blending it does give you a smooth, angled wonderful look that looks amazing. So far my favourite contour brush. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Lastly, I would like to review the only makeup product – “GOLDEN ROSE” PERFECT FINISH LIQUID FOUNDATION.

Without the cap, the pump is super weird

This foundation is so cheap it’s crazy. That made me doubt getting it but Essence and Catrice products are cheap so I thought I give it a shot. It retails around 6€ or $7. The Perfect Finish foundation is meant to be more of a silky finish product, packed with vitamin E.

On the packaging it says that it’s lightweight, suitable for all skin types, has moisturizing agents in the formula as well as Vitamin E, gives the skin semi-matte satin finish with medium coverage. Also, it’s paraben free.

The formula of the foundation is definitely more on the watery side. I do believe that it gives you more of a light/medium coverage. If you have any acne or scaring – this won’t really cover it. However, it does makes your skin look pretty and doesn’t accentuate any dry patches or oily spots – it just blends everything together, but you do need to build the coverage up.
Since I have combination/dry skin only matte or only dewy foundations don’t cut it for me. So I wanted to mix in a moisturizing foundation with my other matte foundation (Borjois 123 Perfect) since my skin looks dull and not so hot after a long day just with a matte foundation.
They do have couple of colors – for my light-skinned girls, you will probably find your shade. I am really light with pink warm undertones which is weird as hell but 53 was perfect for me. Altho, if you have dark skin, there probably won’t be a shade for you. Unless, they don’t carry it in my country, so then maybe you’ll get lucky.

Overall, I do recommend this foundation for mixing with other products to give you that smooth glowy skin.

I do think that for these budget-friendly prices you can find some amazing steals! I always heard their lipsticks are insanely good so that’s something I will try next and will let you know for sure!

On a side note, girls and boys, when doing your make up you don’t have to spend a ton of money. Just do your research, select the best products for your skin type and you can rock any look you want. I encourage all to try smaller, less known brands since more and more of them are cruelty-free and so darn affordable.
