A Facelift

Tags: book christmas

So! What happened with my #100happydays challenge? Let’s just say this, and pardon my French: Shit happens, move on! (But I will try it again when things are ((read my life is)) sorted.)

My life needs a facelift but that has to wait for a little longer. I start here, on my little blog. New colours and a new logo (which I have a friend to thank for since my Photoshop skills are rubbish haha). I have this crazy love for life and it’s a battle at times, where my one meter long legs (someone who was curious did actually measure them once) tries to keep me balanced and stable. And trust me, it can be wobbly on those two sticks sometimes. A hard working coffee lover who takes on what life throws at her, that is kind of what the new logo stands for. Which represents who I am in a good way. Thank you Elin!

And today is a happy day. I got my results back from one exam. So… One exam = Check! Two results to go, and one home exam to write. And talking about my home exam, I want to go somewhere to do it and I can’t make up my mind where to. A week in the sun sipping cocktails by the beach or enjoying the city pulse of New York City (in my head, doing a café tour of the city)? It’s the thing with choices, you tend to either do it or you don’t. I’m used to the latter. Maybe it’s just time for another trip to London, and Barnes…

I’ve read thirteen books over the last three or so months, and I have six more to go before Christmas. It’s been a heavy and hectic start to my new academic world but I’m learning so much, even about myself. And I’m growing as a person. I will be so much more prepared for the next semester, and I can’t wait. And I can’t wait to maaaybe even get time to read other books than school literature. I have a few books waiting for me in the bookshelf actually… Do you know what, I’ll take time this Christmas to actually do that! To get into a routine to put my PJ’s on in a reasonable time, make a cup of tea and cuddle down in bed with a thick book. I have a Christmas gift from last year that I’ve wanted to read since I got it, so that’s the first pick.

This book has to wait for yet some time though (until Christmas at least haha) but I actually think I’ll get cracking with the PJ’s and cuddle up in bed with a book already tonight. Today I got the delivery of my last six books for this semester. I’m going to choose from Goffman’s Stigma or Sennett’s The Corrosion of Character to start with.

It’s definitely the right season to spend your time in your PJ’s with a book underneath a warm duvet. And I’m off! Nighty night xxx
