Overpopulation

In this last century Overpopulation has been one of the worst social problems. I think poeple are right to worry about it. Who doesn't ever think about the increasing number of humans on this planet? But why is there overpopulation?
Decline in the death rateis one of the most important causes, toghether with theincreasing birth rate. These two are both because of medical advance. Everyday there are more and more fertility treatments for those who have problems with it. On the other side, less and less population dies as the time pases.
I don't mean that people aren't allowed to have children or that we should die in our 50's, but are we really creating (a better) life? Hunderd years ago; life expectancy was 30 years less than now. Is it worth it to make such life, if it's threatening ourselves?
It's very good that we can extend our lives by taking medicines, for example. Or that we can make new families and they're probably going to take good care of the newborn. We think it is very good, all these things. But if there comes a moment when the double amount of people are born compared to the people that die, what will happen? Space could be a problem, but what I think would be a bigger problem would be food. Is there enough food to feed so many humans? Because that comes with another consequence: if we eat all plants living on the planet; how will we breathe? Those are a lot of questions... Can somone answer them? Because if there is, that means we're saved!
