You are not alone…

Tags: love loved school

So lately I’ve been on my various social media outlets, talking to friends and acquaintances, reading other bloggers, watching Youtube vlogs and it seems as if everyone and I mean EVERYONE is going through something. I don’t know if it’s because the holiday season is upon us or if it’s in the atmosphere in general but one thing that’s for sure is that you are not alone.

Just to speak about myself just a tad bit, as you may or may not know, I started this blog so I can document and talk about my weight loss journey. I did it to not only look back from when I started to see how far I’ve come but to inspire and help those along the way.  As some of you may also know or many not know, I am currently in my senior year of my Undergraduate career and I plan to pursue a Masters right after (I am blessed to be able to get my degree within 1 year so in 2018 I’ll have my Masters and then no more School for me ). As a result, with the heavy school load, graduate school applications, and workload I am feeling extremely burn out, stressed, lonely, and overwhelmed, and I feel like people who claim to be there for me turn their backs on me. Let me make this clear: I don’t depend on no one I mean my parents, of course, support me at the moment by paying my tuition and stuff however I do things on my own. I just dislike the fact that everyone will ask me for help and assistance with every little thing, things honestly that they can do on their own but as a friend I love to help out (no  I am not a pushover). But, when I need something those same people are nowhere to be found, where’s the mutual support? But this wasn’t the point of me writing this blog,  I am not writing to complain, to rant because I am forever grateful for the countless blessings that have come my way this semester and this year, looking back the year 2016 was so good to me but I’ll leave that for another blog.

For anyone who feels that they want to give up, they are not Loved,  that they do not matter, they are not worth it, that they are by themselves, that they are lonely, that they are only seeing rainy days and cloudy skies, for those who feel as if they don’t see the purpose anymore, for those who feel that they don’t have a friend or an ally, for those who feel like they can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel let me tell you something…

You are not alone, I am here with you (In the words of the late Michael Jackson himself haha). You ARE loved.  You DO matter, There ARE sunny skies, The sun WILL come out, It DOES get better, You ARE worth it, Your life HAS a PURPOSE, You HAVE a friend, You ARE important,  and most importantly….YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

When you are going through something, you never want to go through that burden alone, trust me I know the feeling. Friends and loved ones who know someone and you see that this specific person isn’t acting like their usual self or even if they are, you should definitely check up on them and reach out to them. Extend your hand  and your heart to them and lend a listening ear so that they know that they have a friend in you. Everyone is going through something and you can always use somebody.

It’s never okay to keep your problems or your trials and tribulations bottled up inside of you. TRUST ME, it will start to affect you emotionally, spiritually, as well as physically. Talk to somebody, write it down and  throw it away, pray about it, seek professional help, formulate a support group, do activities that you love, take your mind off your problem but keep in mind that if you don’t solve the problem it will always linger in your mind. Also remember the importance of self-care, take care of yourself, as difficult as it maybe. Find ways to love yourself.

Some things that I do and I would love to share with you, especially when I am going through something is first and foremost I look up motivational or inspirational quotes. I also listen to music specifically gospel, because some of the music is just speaking directly to my soul. I try to call a loved one (especially as a stressed college student, this is crucial), I take a nice shower and I do my hair and makeup because if I look good, I feel good. I look of words of affirmations and I say it to myself. I do something that I enjoy such as watching vlogs, or blogging (which I ‘ve been slacking on) or hanging with friends. I also surround myself with positive people.

What do you do to help get you through a tough time? I would love to know. Share with me some thoughts and suggestions, remember each one reach one. Also if anyone whoever you are  feels the needs to talk to me just know I am always listening.

~ Remember to take it one day at a time and know that you are not alone. ~
