Kalimera!
Then, there’s pastry and deserts. I tried the traditional diples. It’s a fried dough covered with honey and nuts. There are traditional fig pies & you have a variety of flavours to choose. I tried the one with Ouzo – the Greek anise-flavoured vodka. The pie itself is nice, but I’m not a fan of Ouzo. It was a nice experience to try it though. Also, you can find baklavas, halvas & nuts in every form. They’re super sweet so you don’t eat much, bearing in mind that it’s hot there too.
The liqueur on the picture is made from Kumquat. It’s also a traditional alcohol made in Corfu. It’s sweet & I’ve heard that it helps with digestion (may be true! xD). You can drink it on rocks or add to ice cream, fruit, coffee – it’s left for your imagination. I like it so I got myself a little supply – although it won’t last too long because everyone wanna try it.
