How to help Midwest Farmers after floods

Record rainfall, flooding and wind damage are punishing farmers across the Midwest, with fields and livestock under standing water and damages to farmers in the millions of dollars. Some farmers are giving up hope for being able to plant in flooded fields this year. For Family Farmers and ranchers already teetering on the edge from low prices and an ongoing trade war, this latest disaster is the last thing they need. As we’ve done in the past during times of urgent need, Farm Aid has activated our Family Farm Disaster Fund to provide aid to help family farmers in the affected region.

“We’ve heard from farmers that they can’t wait the months it takes for disaster assistance to come. We have too few family farms left to lose even one to a weather disaster.” ~ Farm Aid President Willie Nelson

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR FAMILY FARMERS NOW WHEN THEY NEED IT MOST.

Farm Aid’s relief efforts will focus on the family farmers and ranchers who have lost their barns, livestock, crops, fields, pasture and other essential farm infrastructure. With your support, Farm Aid will work with family farmers and Midwest farm organizations to:

  • Make emergency grants to farm and ranch families;
  • Help farmers and ranchers understand their farm recovery options;
  • Support local and state farm service providers to help farmers navigate recovery options, from mental health resources to federal funding opportunities; and
  • Advocate for needed disaster recovery funds and resources from the federal government.
