The bad news is sometimes, bands break up. The second Band ever on Jealous Sounds, Throw The Temple unfortunately separated several months ago. The good news is that another great band emerged from the ashes, Manhigh. I was fortunate to get an early preview of their first single, “Love Letters From Space”. Now, I offer it to you.

Manhigh consists of Gabe Gambino, the former lead singer of Throw The Temple (Lead guitar and vocals), Gabrielle Gambino (Bass) and Ray Gutierrez (Drums). The story I’m told is this: Gabe wanted to start a new band. His new wife Gabrielle was willing, and learned the bass. Ray’s a longtime friend. The whole thing just clicked. They began to tour, and the current result is “Love Letters From Space”. Ray and Gabrielle’s rhythm sets an ominous undertone. Gabe’s vocals, probably his best to date, come in only second to his guitar. This song is about alienation, with an atmospheric edge. “Love Letters From Space” is the perfect set up for the young and constantly growing band. I look forward to an EP soon.
