Chene Park Detroit: Celebrating 32 seasons of providing quality concert performances and live entertainment events in Detroit metro, Chene Park Amphitheater and The Right Productions are in week two of its "Jazzy Nights Season" for 2017. Held every Wednesday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. this years concert lineup feature some of the nations hottest Jazz and R&B artists.
Two-time Grammy nominated saxophonist and flautist, Najee headlined week two with Kindred Soul Family on the undercard. Najee has collaborated with almost all the majors in the music business from Prince, Quincy Jones to Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan and Herbie Hancock. With two Platinum and four Gold albums under his belt, Najee is jazz icon whose musical dexterity inspired an entire new genre of contemporary jazz by fusing (R&B and Jazz).
Najee is the definition of cool, silky smooth jazz. He remains one of the very best saxophonist in the world of jazz in my opinion. I have faithfully followed Najee career every since I came a jazz junky.
I finally got a chance to see the living legend in living color this past week at Chene Park Detroit. Live jazz on a cool summer evening overlooking a riverfront backdrop is like heaven on earth. This particular evening made me appreciate why I've been hooked on Najee smooth jazz sound.
