The 'Autopsy' Has Been Performed & The Results Are In...

I haven't been on here in a while. There has been nothing out there that has caught my eye for a long time. I caught wind of this EP that dropped this summer. It is called "The Autopsy EP" by Bradford Hester a.k.a. Miraculous. If you follow me you would of heard the name from Diverze's mixtape. Well Miraculous dropped his very own tape for us to jam to. So as my readers know, I'm going to come back to limelight with a review of "The Autopsy". Let's see if hip-hop really is dead:

1. Repercussions: This is the intro to the EP which is 7 tracks long. Definitely not a intro-like feel though. A big plus. Miraculous doesn't BS and goes right into storytelling track reminiscent of Tupac with a flow that resembles Freddie Gibbs. The hook switches up with very great speed, and goes to a soft meaningful chorus. Miraculous comes back from the softness of this chorus with his harsh lyrics telling the story of an unfortunate youth. Definitely a very interesting intro track, and very good track overall.

2. Frost Bite: Talk about hitting back to back homers. Miraculous returns with another track that distinguishes him from the rest. His flow is tight as usual and the lyrics are fantastic. So far with the first two tracks Miraculous has proven that he can utilize his vast array of flows onto beats that do not require hard basslines and a party-like feel. Instead Miraculous goes for the calming feel and meaningful lyrics. The beat is on the money again, along with the great chorus. He's 2-2 so far.

3. Ready or Not (feat. Maxx Flair): 3 for 3 now. Probably the quickest track so far, Miraculous does his thing again and this time he brought Maxx Flair along for the ride. The beat remains smooth but a bit more edgier than the other two tracks that he has so far. However, the song is still well played and Bradford does a fantastic job making sure that he does not get killed on his own track. A feat that is not well accomplished nowadays.

4. I Tried My Best (feat. Spoken Phor): This is a track hip-hop needs right now. I consider this a diss track aimed towards hip hop as a whole. This track can go off of the first couple of lyrics Bradford spits at the beginning of his verse which takes aim at the subject matter that seems to be the most prevalent in hip-hop now. Those topics being the least socially relevant to the what matters most. The beat is clean and crisp as are the lyrics. This is a track a person listens to while sitting in their room. You listen to the track for meaning, not for pleasure. 4 for 4 now.

5. Speed of Sound: The most uptempo track reviewed so far. Brad goes especially hard on this track. You can tell from the very tone that he takes at the top of his verse. This seems to be something that he does very well, he puts a lot of emotion into each and every track that he does. A very well accomplished feat that he has added to his arsenal. Although the song is uptempo it does not take away from the very nature of the track, he still maintains a high level of lyricism and flow throughout it. 5 for 5

6. Autopsy: This track made me laugh the first time I heard it. Not in a bad way though. My laugh originates from the aspect that most of hip hop is nearly techno/dubstep, but this song incorporates a 90s beat feel to it with a touch of that new age flow and lyricism to it. It is the shortest track on the EP, but still a good one at that.

7. Memorial Service: Wow. This is definitely my favorite track off the whole EP. Miraculous pulled out all the stops for this one. This track is very carefully structured, consisting of multiple sounds and flows being blended into a matter of approximately 4:20. The second longest track on the EP, Miraculous closes out his EP with meaningful lyrics and a fantastic beat. This track blends two different of my favorite rappers into one. The hook is reminiscent of something Kid Cudi would do, and the verses spit by Miraculous are a little slower than rapidfire. Almost like a Royce Da 5'9 or Crooked I type flow. However, do not confuse this for a rapper trying to be like someone else, Miraculous clearly demonstrates his very own identity on a track like this. Fantastic.

Wow. The song by song breakdown is complete and it is time for the scores to be delivered. The thought process that was placed into making this. Each song is carefully written to compliment the beat that it is being fit to. Sound quality was great, it played through my headphones with the perfect volume and wasn't too high or low. Miraculous did a fantastic job in using his arsenal of flows and sounds to his advantage. The EP was the perfect length of how a EP should be, and with minimal features as far as having another rapper spitting a verse, it was great with that too. Now it is time for the score:

Lyrics: 9.5/10
Beats: 9/10
Bumpability: 9/10
Versatility & Flow: 9.5/10
Length of EP: 10/10

Overall: 9.4/10

That's the score so now make sure you go and cop it! Here is the link:
