LIVE REVIEW | Jordan Mackampa at Omeara, London | 4 October 2018

Jordan Mackampa’s sold out show at had us feeling all sorts of emotions as he delivered a touching performance at London’s Omeara.

The Coventry based folk-soul artist has been making waves recently, and with his UK/EU tour well underway, Jordan Mackampa created an intimate setting in the small, sweaty Omeara. With over a year since his last London show, we were very lucky to attend.

Walking through the dark corridor leading to the main stage, we were hit with an instant wave of heat as we entered the room – Jordan Mackampa had filled the venue to it’s full capacity.

With a packed bar and the hum of chattering circulating the room, the atmosphere was electric; it was evident the year gap between shows in London had an impact on crowds attendance and excitement. Decked out in a black hat and baggy white shirt, the singer and his band were met with huge cheers, as he launched into the soft and soulful ‘Saint’.

Intricate melodies and intoxicating guitar chords filled the room, causing a huge sing along and bodies erupting in ceaseless dancing. Performing fan favourites such as ‘Foreigner’ and ‘One in the Same’; it was truly a magical moment to see Mackampa standing on stage, touched and tearful, as the continuous applause rang out long after his last song.
