HEAR THIS | SOAK returns with new track ‘Everybody Loves You’, and new album in 2019

SOAK is back today with beautiful new single ‘Everybody Loves You’, and has also confirmed a handful of intimate live shows in the UK for November 2018.

SOAK will release a new album in 2019, following 2015’s ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’.

Bringing that same raw, haunting and emotional prowess we know and love of SOAK, ‘Everybody Loves You’ is a pensive track for those of use who love easily but aren’t the best at loving ourselves, about vulnerable dreamers who seek answers in past experience to give confidence for our future, and being stubbon AF.

Melancholic and retropective as-ever, what’s new here though is a wider sound, clearer production, and a rounded maturity that sounds way older than 22 years of age.

‘Everybody Loves You’ (writes Bridie), “is a song about extreme denial. More specifically about my stubborn ability to convince myself I don’t want something that I do and blind my rational thought process – I suppose in this case, as a way of self-protection (and avoiding vulnerability). The lift at the end of the song (“Everybody wants you, And I do too”) represents the almost comedic/foolish acceptance of my own feelings. A 360 turn of events in which I then so desperately want all that I had rejected and pushed away. A consistent theme of my younger self.”

‘Everybody Loves You’ is a teaser for SOAK’s upcoming second album to be released in 2019 – following her Mercury-nominated 2015 debut, ‘Before We Forgot How to Dream’, offering a more mature-sounding hint to what SOAK might do next. An about-time return.

See SOAK live in November 2018:

November 26th – Belfast, Oh Yeah
November 27th – Dublin, The Grand Social
November 28th – Manchester, Jimmy’s NQ
November 29th – London, Omeara
