Born in Western Australia in 1990, winner of the 2018’s seventh season of ‘The voice Australia’ with a very original act formed by a loop station an effect pedal and a microphone which he uses to create layers of vocal harmonies, beats, effects, beat box, this a one man act! Seriously, who needs a band when you’re this talented?
When he audition for The Voice Australia he didn’t do it for the sake of winning the whole thing, he even stated that he did it in order to get more followers and get some people to like what he was up to and for gaining respect. Little did he know that destiny had better and bigger plans for him because he not only won the contest but he also got a prestigious recording contract with Universal Records.
“Trust Myself” was the first digital single he released under the Universal label right after he won the contest, the single was a moderated success in the Australian charts reaching the 78th position in the ARIA singles chart.
Perry also has a background career as an Urban Circus performer; in 2013 he was castes by Onyx Productions’ for a tour in Australia which had more than 70 scheduled performances and which success took the show to Germany with great achievement resulting in 25 almost sold out shows. In 2014 he premiered “The word is…” a non-stop vocal soundscape awarded with a four stars review by The West Australian and Fringeworld Music Award. On top of that he has participated for four consecutive years in the Fringe Festival being the 2017’s edition his fourth time.
In November 16th he started his Australian national tour titled “Not a dj” in which he also launched a small competition to find new talented artists to go with him on the tour. As someone who knows the struggles of stepping into the music scene and starting out as a local artist from a small town he has shown his desire to support emerging performers and musicians by joining him in their cities on his tour around Australia.
