Q: Gods of Eden began in 2010, and in the now 7 years you have been together, you have travelled to Germany to play a small festival with Grave and Asphyx in 2013, collect the 'Best Visual Effects' Category of Berlin Music Video Awards in 2014 (video clip that rivalled with the likes of Korn), supported, Dark Funeral, Abbath and Lacuna Coil in Sydney and are now on your way to the Phillipines to play at the Summer Slam 17 in April to play with Megadeth, White Chapel, Dragonforce and many more. How does this make you feel? 

A: Pretty positive about it all. I would have personally liked to have achieved more, but given the circumstances I think we have done pretty well so far. Only onwards and upwards from here.

 Q: Having played all over Australia and overseas, what was your most memorable gig and why?

A: I would say my most favourite gig to play so far was a small festival called ‘Dime Day’ In Wagga Wagga, rural Australia. The crowd was awesome and was standing on tables going off from the front of the room to the back.

Q: Of all the many subgenres and genres in Heavy Metal, your brand of technical death metal is probably the most intimidating one on a musician point of view. What kind of musical training did you have and what does it take for five people to make such a complex machine work?

A: Well we wouldn’t classify ourselves as Technical Death metal. We are a progressive band that uses some elements of Technical Death Metal, sprinkled over our more soundtrack inspired writing. For me I have had vocal training as well as teaching myself different techniques to achieve different vocal styles. Danni, the main riff king, has a basis in classical Spanish flamenco guitar. And the other guys have years of experience playing in bands.

 Q: When can we expect the second full length? Is it going to be more technical than “From The End Of Heaven”?

A: We are in the process of writing the follow up album now. I think in ways it will actually be less technical.  After the release and subsequent touring of ‘From the End of Heaven’ we were never really happy with the way it translated live. It was initially written as a studio project. So this time around we are changing our approach to how we write songs. We are looking to make everything as big as possible, big powerful riffs, big vocals, big solos, big synths. It’s going to be the natural evolution for a good studio project to become a great live band.

 Q: Having played with bands you respect from overseas and from Australia alike, what is your next big goal? What band would you like to play with, metal or non-metal and why?

A:  We are really looking forward to playing with Megadeth, because it’s fucking megadeth! I would also love to play with Opeth, Devin Townsend, Dream Theatre, coz I am a bit of a prog wanker. Other targets are Hammersonic, 70000tons of metal and a run of the festivals in Europe.

 Q: Would you consider playing in Indonesia in the future? I’m sure you heard of Hammersonic Festival, and what other things would you consider doing while travelling in Indonesia?

A: Yeah we would love to play Hammersonic, Given the opportunity we would play this year!

 Q: If you could give an advice to yourself from when you started or joined the band, what would it be? 

A: Strap yourself in, it’s going to be a ride!
