Metal is a rich genre spanning across all places across the world. I am leaving out the United States in this list. Some scenes in particular are very dense and full of life; here are my top 5.
Number 5: Australia
Australia has a better metal scene than some may think, it’s home to metal bands such as Thy Art Is Murder. Along with great bands it hosts many tours for metal fans to attend; there’s never a shortage of concerts. Although not the best on this list, it surely deserves a spot on the list.
Number 4: Finland
Finland is a hotspot for local music, there are metal pubs everywhere and is the home of metal greats, Children Of Bodom. Finland has such a rich underground scene, and it’s the perfect place for a metal-head to explore.
Number 3: Germany
Kreator, Rammstein, The Scorpions.. you name it. Germany has it all; along with fests like Wacken. Germany is so rich in culture and metal tradition, it’s truly special.
Number 2: The United Kingdom
The UK is home of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, and Download. That says enough right there; but if that’s not enough, the UK is jam packed with tons of pubs and bars to see live music. The UK is the birthplace of heavy metal, that alone is a reason to go.
Number 1: Scandinavia
For one, Scandinavia as absolutely beautiful, for two, it’s the birthplace of black metal. Norway and Sweden are crammed with the heaviest music scene in the whole world. It has such a deep culture and history in the birth of black metal, ask anyone; Scandinavia is THE heaviest.
