It’s time to be funny again! It’s time for another Q&A. But why ask me?

 
A quick “me” update: About six weeks ago or something like that, I finished high school! I am quite excited and I can’t believe that I am gonna start college soon. I have always thought of college for like “the big kids.” Now I am a big kid. I actually got my high school diploma this Tuesday and boy am I proud!
 
Next week, I am volunteering at my church’s VBS and I will be part of the skits. And boy am I excited about that! The skits are pretty funny. My characters range from a little kid, the prodigal son, and even a pirate! It’s so much fun.
 
Then at the end of July, I will be gone for a 10+ day mission trip to Costa Rica. And I am so excited about that. I plan to share that with you all.
 
And in August, I plan on seeing ApologetiX’s 25th anniversary concert!!! Boy, it’s gonna be so awesome!
 
In addition, I will be seeing my grandpa twice this summer and am so excited about that.
 
Okay, enough about my packed summer, let us see what questions I have.
 
The first two questions come from Hailey H (without a period). Her first question is: “What are your favorite and least favorite school subjects, and why?”
 
That’s actually three questions. Maybe four when you think about it. Who knows, it actually could be 59.
 
Thinking about it, I don’t have to answer because I have graduated!!! Moving on . . .
 
That was mean.
 
Okay, well I will straight up and down say that the hardest subject for me was math. I hesitate saying “least favorite” because it makes me sound like I don’t like school. But math was the hardest. But I will say that if I understood math better, then I will say that I would have liked math a lot more.
 
But I will kinda say that science would be my least favorite . . . to a degree. Again, I don’t wanna sound like one who hates school (and I know I don’t), but I struggled a ton with science in high school. It’s tough when you have the periodic table. It’s harder when you toss math into it. Biology was very tuff, but no math was involved. (Seriously, I can’t remember any of the animal kingdom stuff now. I’d rather be fluent in Korean than learn the animal kingdom labels.) Then I did something called “Physical Science,” which was an introduction to both chemistry and physics. That was a little tuff, but I did it. Then I had the choice to do either chemistry or physics. I chose physics.
 
Has anyone heard the Building 429 song: “There’s no such thing as impossible!”
 
Yes, there is.
 
The math was too much, I ended up failing my second test three times. My dad and my academic advisor advised me to drop out of physics and do chemistry next year. I so didn’t wanna drop out, but I did.
 
So next year, I did chemistry.
 
Has anyone heard the Building 429 song: “There’s no such thing as impossible!”
 
Yes, there is.
 
My dad was surprised that there was math in chemistry.
 
After failing the second test two or three times, I was again advised by my advisor and my dad to drop out and change my degree plan. With a heavy heart, I did.
 
(In addition, I dropped out of trig due to the fact we didn’t have a TI-84 calculator, not because it was too hard for me.)
 
So I guess I gave the whys of the least favorite subject question. Next, it’s time for my favorite subject.
 
In the past when I was a little kid, I was always asked what my favorite subject was. I would innocently say “Bible.” Out of all honesty, that was me trying to say that I didn’t wanna disavow the Bible and thus put it on that pedestal.
 
But during my high school years, I can say that I did enjoy “Bible” for the most part. It depended what subject (a.k.a. New Testament Survey, Spiritual Living, etc.) I was studying, but for the most part, I did enjoy it.
 
I also do enjoy history and I learned some interesting things during my “Social Studies” classes. I have never been a huge fan of “English.”
 
So I think I answered that question(s). That was fun.
 
One question I get asked by a lot of people is “What are you gonna study in college?” And I’m like “I don’t know!” I understand that some people already know what they are gonna study in college before they enter, but I heard that 85% of the students going for their bachelor’s degree switch courses at least once. (That stat might only be at the college I’m attending.)
 
So I would answer, “At this point, I’m down to three: Biblical studies, audio, and IT.”
 
Let me dissect that answer.
 
First off, I feel like God wants me to be in the ministry when I’m older. So a good study of the Bible would be awesome, I would think. Sometimes, I need a kick in the back to study my Bible and doing a school course on it would help me focus and all. But I don’t have to take a degree in it; I can study on my own and pay attention in church.
 
I have a passion for audio work. Of the little I do know, I love doing it. Me and my siblings did a really silly radio show type podcast and we had a ton of fun doing it. The first two episodes were like “turn on the mic and hit record” and were like 15 minutes long. Then we did four full-length episodes that were at least 30 minutes long, filled with rants and “breaking news” and other goofy things. The seventh episode still hasn’t been finished. That is my main experience in audio work, I would think. I have done other various projects, from reenacting a Bible story to producing songs.
 
I do know that my knowledge is limited and I would love to expand that. But I know I don’t have to learn from a college classroom. But I don’t know where I can learn it. (Or I can take online courses in addition to college, eh?) At least I’d be forced to make time to learn if it was my main study at college.
 
Finally, IT. This is not my first choice. It was an idea from my dad and as much as I don’t really wanna, it’s not a bad idea. One good thing to have is a skill. Something that others will wanna hire you for. There is such a need for IT people in the world today that it wouldn’t be way too hard snagging a job in that area. But I don’t fully know how I can fulfill the ministry approach while doing IT. I guess I can do it part time and have a ministry related job on the side. While money is not the goal, it is still important to be able to be self-sufficient. While “Just Chill And Trust Him” always does come into play, God doesn’t want us to be lazy and just wait. Sometimes we ask him for his help and he leads us as we search for whatever is needed.
 
Anyways, as I mentioned, I am volunteering at my church’s VBS and taking part in the skits. I am having so much fun. Though we only practiced together one day, it was so much fun to be someone other than me and explore that wild side. (Of course, I love being me, but there’s a rush whenever you play a pirate or whatever.) When I mentioned that to B, she asked if I was considering acting as part of my future. I said that it was more like a Plan B and a “if God wills” thing.
 
To my surprise, my dad wanted to talk with me the next day. He mentioned that he had often wondered why I am one who likes to attract attention to myself (to a degree) and am usually not nervous. (In that case, I am the total opposite from him.) So he mentioned that he is totally okay if I pursued a theatre degree in college. Believe me, that was the last thing I expected to hear from him.
 
You know, being an actor is not easy. I’m even sure that Hollywood actors can sit in their homes for a couple years without picking up a job. (I guess only TV stars have consistent jobs . . . until the season isn’t renewed.)  And acting is not truly something I was even considering. Yes, when I was younger and listened to a ton of Odyssey and podcasts, it definitely was on my mind. (I did offer my vocal talents to Chris Green several times, both in the past and recently. Shows how serious I can be.) But acting as my main drive hasn’t truly crossed my mind in recent years. But who knows!
 
Another thing that annoys me about mainstream actors is that they become known as a person. It’s like “That’s Nicholas Cage, not [whatever actor he is playing.]” “That’s Jennifer Lawrence, not [whoever].” Whata whata whata. And then a person can become so synonymous with a character, so whenever Melissa Benoist is in something, fans might think of her more as Supergirl than a cast member in Glee. And whenever you listen to a Kids Radio episode and Will Ryan or Katie Leigh plays a Bible character or something, it become a fun “That’s Eugene and Connie” moment. Not that those are bad, but I guess I am ranting at this moment. Ha, ha.
 
And I also am considering writing as a major. I am not a great writer and I know I have a ton of room to improve.
 
So I was down to three, but now I’m up to five! Ha, ha!
 
One quick funny story. So at my church, they were having graduation pictures for high school and college graduates. So I submitted a picture. I was planning for it to be a “Yep, that’s Christopher” picture. It was based upon the 100 posts picture. The three Christophers celebrating on a white background with my logo in the back. Perfect!
 
And it was rejected, and I was asked for a “normal headshot.”
 
So I got “angry” and declared that I don’t know how to do normal, so I took a picture wearing my kindergarten grad cap (along with my pureNRG jacket and my To Hell With The Devil t-shirt). #approved

“What is something you feel that God has been teaching you lately?”
 
Ah, good question.
 
My pastor recently preached two sermons on Ephesians 3:14-21. The thing that stood out to me the most was about feeding the “inner man.”
 
Here’s an example. What if you stopped eating food? I mean, seriously, you aren’t getting any taller or stronger, as far as you can see. So you conclude that eating doesn’t really do much for you and you start skipping meals.
 
That is how so many of us Christians treat our “quite time” with the Lord. We often look for that emotional rush and expect that to happen each time we spend time with the Lord. But that won’t happen each time. Sometimes we eat a gourmet meal, other times it’s just broccoli. (I personally like steamed broccoli, but I know that it is a bland veggie.)
 
So this has encouraged me so much lately to spend time with the Lord. Since my “Just Chill And Trust Him” deal, I have fallen out of step with having time with God. But this sermon has revitalized it by a ton. Of course, I’m not perfect and will never be, but my time with God is a lot better than it has been.

Seriously, everyone answers “Fly” and that is the only one I can think of. So I am going to Google a list of superpowers.
 
Either time manipulation or omnilingualism (the knowledge of all languages). Time manipulation is just plain cool. And it would be cool to know all languages, you know what I mean? I’d have no problem sharing the Gospel!
