Compelling Duo Seven Eyes Take You On A Journey On The N38

Seven Eyes is an exciting duo combining the talented forces of vocalist Tanya Wells from the UK and guitarist Paulo Vinícius from Brazil. Bringing together a range of cultures, languages and influences the pair formed in 2015 and release an eclectic variety of music from Jazz, Folk, Brazilian to Hindustani classical music. Their latest video N38 is about the night bus in London and tells a story through heartfelt vocals and beautiful, subtle instrumentals. The song feels so honest and is instantly relatable through raw lyrics and visuals.
Tanya Wells describes the song and video, "I was making my way to the tube one day when, as I stood on the escalator down to the platform, I saw a friend from university take the opposite escalator up. We greeted each other as we parted in opposite directions. This has happened to me several times in London with different people I knew. I sat on the tube thinking about these chance encounters which we can experience on public transport. I love the idea that we go about our lives, our daily commute, our activities in the city and have the chance of randomly bumping into someone we know, who is also going about their life in the city. N38 is a story that encapsulates this idea. It tells the story of a woman who chances upon her past love on a London night bus (N38) on her Journey home. The song expresses the perturbation that ensues from this surprise encounter."
"Out of all the night buses in London You had to step on the 38 Sitting on the top deck by the window Looking out as we pull away Watching people spilling out onto pavements Stumbling in the orange glow Out of all the night buses in London You had to step on my journey home"
'The Seed' the pair's debut album was applauded by live audiences during their 2017 tour of the UK, Europe, North America and Brazil. Seven Eyes have performed at the United Nations in New York and are regulars on BBC Asian Network, BBC Urdu, and BBC World. They recently completed a trip to Pakistan and India, where they performed at a number of prestigious festivals while collaborating with a variety of incredible artists from the Subcontinent.
Seven Eyes have also released 'Craigie Hill' and have a lot more music on the way so keep an eye and an ear out for this talented pair.
