If TURYA's recent song 'Falling' takes you on a musical journey then her new video will take you on a Visual one. Sink into the ambient soundscape, haunting melody, ethereal electronics, and textured instrumentals and let Turya's hypnotic vocals drift you away. The accompanying Music video reflect the layers of sound with overlapping visuals. The eerie feeling is elevated through the mostly stark colours and pale, bleak sky, but the richness of sound reflects the bursts of colour such as the burnt orange fire, the ribbons, and even the character's flame red hair. It is a simple tale, but very effective. A girl finds a feather on the floor of her train carriage and is transported to another place, a shamanic world of nature, harmony, and freedom. A very different place from the modern world we live in and the struggles we face every day. 

TURYA, otherwise known as Nicki Wells, came across a shaman (a person regarded as having influence in the world of good and evil spirits) during her travels in Siberia and this influenced the music video for 'Falling'. The video director, Alexander Boethius, returned to Siberia and filmed the very same shaman who features in the visuals. His role was integral to the artistic development of the video production and TURYA herself has a part to play in the music video. 

Boethius comments,  "I was shown a photograph by TURYA of a shaman gathering in Siberia, and I found the face captivating. A few months later, unbeknown to me, we were crouching in the deep Siberian snow filming that exact shaman from that photograph.”

TURYA says of her new music video “I’m really proud of the video for ‘Falling’, it showcases one ceremony, which was shot in just 30 minutes. It was such a powerful experience, which is very much reflected in the video…” 

'Falling' was already unforgettable but TURYA's visuals draw the listener and viewer even more into her world. And it's a good place to be.
