Jessica Murae Goes 'Wild' In New Music Video

And now for an artist whose latest music video exudes peace and spirituality while exploring the themes of freedom and spontaneity. Hertfordshire-based singer-songwriter Jessica Murae introduces her new video 'Wild', a blissful slice of alt-pop featuring haunting vocals, live instrumentals which are not picture perfectly polished, but quite raw and build in tension. The simple, yet striking video was beautifully shot at Asylum Chapel in Peckham.
Jessica Murae says of 'Wild', “I wrote the song at a time in my life when I wanted to do something spontaneous. It was also that feeling where you're doing the same thing day in and day out and it could almost lead you to self-destruction; where at some point, if you don't change anything then you almost feel like you're on the edge to the complete unknown."
'Wild' was born out of studio sessions with musician/producer Jake Brett and follows 'Dance To You' which has been picked up by BBC Introducing. Prior to this Jessica won the Coffee Music Project in conjunction with Caffé Nero and was Caffe Nero’s Artist Of The Month as well as performing at the London and Amsterdam Coffee Festival. She released her debut EP 'Jessica Murae' late last year with the track ‘Still Cold’ named as BBC Introducing Track Of The Week through BBC Beds, Herts and Bucks on its week of release. Performances include sold out shows at venues including Kensington Roof Gardens, Notting Hill Arts Club, Ronnie Scotts and 229 the Venue.
Jessica Murae is known for her musical playfulness and 'Wild' portrays this beautifully in the visuals with Jessica dancing to her own tune, her lean body and long hair winding expressively around a memorable melody and layered vocals with swirling hooks in a spacious, yet intimate venue filled with light and shadows.
Jessica says of the music video, “The colours of pink, blue and gold looked so unique and against the derelict chapel that it very quickly became my dream place to film. The wide space in the chapel reflected the idea for the song - I was able to move and dance around the room and quite literally go 'Wild'.”
