Kendrick Lamar – ELEMENT.

On “ELEMENT,” Kendrick Lamar asserts himself as the most dominant rapper in the game, taking his contemporaries to task and daring them to call him out on wax. The third verse ends with the most potent line, with Kendrick rapping:

Last LP I tried to lift the black artists
But it’s a difference between black artists and wack artists

A reference to his critically acclaimed third studio album, To Pimp A Butterfly.

Fans have speculated that the “I don’t give a fuck” lyrics on the intro are reminiscent of Big Sean’s platinum hit “I Don’t Fuck With You” and that the chorus’ delivery is reminiscent of many of Drake’s choruses.

The intro and outros are performed by Kid Capri, a popular 90’s DJ who previously deejayed for seven seasons of Def Comedy Jam. Get DAMN. Album on iTunes.
