Yamaha XV750 CRSS 9 by Café Racer Sspirit Oozes Matchless Style

You can trust custom bikes originating from Spain to exude racing aura. This 1982 Yamaha XV750 CRSS 9 by Café Racer Sspirit is a perfect example of it.

Motorcycle customisation is an art form that seldom gets the due it deserves, especially when it comes to connecting absolute strangers by a single thread of love for motorcycles. Looking closely at the works of a vast majority of custom motorcycle builders over the years, it is evident to me that every single build speaks volumes about its creators, it showcases its owners aura and talks in a language any motorcycle lover across the globe would clearly understand. These builds generally contains within them an essence of the part of the world they originated from as well, giving a better picture of the country, that province’s motorcycle culture and legacy. May be this is why this 1982 Yamaha XV750 CRSS 9 by Cafe Racer Sspirit oozes such matchless style. Born out of Gipuzkoa province of Spain, this build brings the racing inclination of the country to the forefront in a minimal yet expressive design.

The blokes at Café Racer Sspirit seems to understand the dark art of motorcycle customisation pretty well. They say that they are dedicated towards re-describing the beauty of motorcycles in a way that ensures their builds possess a unique aura both in terms of aesthetics and performance. No wonder then this 1982 Yamaha XV750 CRSS 9 build has turned out to be this good looking. The team was right is saying that the original bike was in itself a custom bike and hence making a café racer out of it was a natural progression. The most striking art of the build has got to be the iconic Yamaha 60th Anniversary paint-job that also inspired probably one of the greatest motorcycle racing liveries of all time.

The 1982 Yamaha XV750 CRSS 9 build was also a thorough effort that meant the team had to disassemble the whole bike. This meant a high degree of concentration was given to the whole build to provide top-notch quality to the restoration work. The bike was then given a custom CRSS Sub frame along with a custom handmade CRSS custom seat. The old battery was replaced by a new one while all the electrical controls were simplified to modern standards. The team also added a new digital speedometer to the build along with Koso indicators and a headlight sourced from the Harley Davidson V-Rod. The tail lamp was given a rather minimal smoked treatment.

Other mechanical bits added to the 1982 Yamaha XV750 CRSS 9 build were the likes of YSS sport mono shock for the rear and a K&N air filter. The Café Racer Sspirit team also made sure that the build featured a vast variety of custom CRSS special additions in the form of a 2 into 1 exhaust assembly, and custom fenders at both ends. The rubber shod on the gorgeous wheels is Firestone Champion Deluxe. The end result as you can see here is a minimal 1982 Yamaha XV750 CRSS 9 build that has the iconic Yamaha v-twin as its heart further glorified with the most famous paint scheme that Yamaha’s have draped themselves in till date.
