It’s time to take off your shirt. Summer is here and you been hitting the gym hard all winter right? Well if your answer is “no” or “sort of” don’t worry, I got you!

1. Start Now

– This one should be common sense but you need to start as soon as possible. Stop making excuses and delaying. Don’t set a date in a the near future to get started because that is just holding you back from your goals even further. Start today, make time and get going.
 
Join the gym, start eating healthy NOW, make the positive change as soon as possible. It takes around 3 weeks to create a habit so get a Movin’ and the sooner the better.

2. Have A Plan Of Action

– A goal without a plan is just a dream. Get on a workout plan and know what you are doing each day of training. When you walk though the doors of the gym know exactly what muscle groups you are working on. Know each day what you are doing when it comes to your training.
How much cardio and what kind of cardio you are doing that day. HIIT or low intensity? Full body workout or split training? A plan of action will be your map to your ripped body success.

3. Control Your Carb Intake

– This rule is a little more particular but very important. Keep in mind and know how much carbohydrates you are in taking on a daily basis. The over consumption of carbs is one of the biggest mistakes I see many people make when trying to get fit and have a ripped body.
Also the type of carbs plays a role as well. Refined carbs should be nonexistent in your life. Only used for cheat meals. Brown rice and sweet potatoes are more in the realm of what you should be eating when it comes to carbohydrates.

4. Intermittent Fasting

– Since we are on the topic of nutrition, let’s talk about intermittent fasting. IF alone can get you ripped! If you been working out hard and also eat right but still haven’t got ripped, intermittent fasting can be your missing link.

5. Compound Exercises Are Key

– The main compound exercises which work out more than one muscle are key to developing a good-looking physique. When your body fat percentage is low and you have a workout plan that consist of compound movements there is no doubt you will look ripped.
Compound movements such as bench press, squats, shoulder press to name a few will help you get ripped even faster than all the cardio that is normally recommended.

6. High Intensity Interval Training Is Key

– HIIT done for 15 minutes on cardio days will burn more fat than steady state cardio done for an hour. There is a time and place for steady state cardio but if you want to get ripped for summer fast start HIIT. Incorporating high intensity interval training into your weekly workout routine will help you get ripped faster.

7. Focus And Full Intensity While Training

– You can’t just go through the motions and expect results. You need to be focused on your workouts and be progressing with each exercise. Lifting weights and feeling the burn is key to getting results.
Lift heavy or go home. When lifting with high reps make sure it’s intense. Get your mind on the prize and focus. Mind/muscle connection is key to getting your ripped body.

8. Stay Away From Sugar

– Treat sugar like poison or a bad drug. Keep it away because it is addicting. Sugar will destroy your fitness goals faster than anything else. I do understand you will have some sugar… it comes along with being a human, but stay away from the sweets! 
This one is tough if you are used to having a lot of sugar daily. Make it a habit and lifestyle to keep sugar to a bare minimum, your teeth will thank you.

9. Drink Only Water And Lots Of It

– Water should be the only beverage you consume. End of story; if you want to get ripped you should be drinking water all day long.
On average when someone stops drinking soda they lose around 5-10 pounds. Now imagine you follow all the other advice in this article, you will be ripped at the beach in no time!

10. Supplements Will Help Big Time

– I am not here to sell you anything but it is true that supplements will help you get ripped faster. I do understand that there are a lot of snake oil schemes in the fitness industry so I will give you a list of the most important supplements I feel will help the most.
Now supplements are not needed to get a ripped body but they do add around 10% to your over all progress if used right and mixed with all the above advice.
