We’ve recently shared more recognition of BIOLIFE4D and our scientific innovation in the global media, as outlets like BBC showcased our life-saving technology. Today we’re pleased to announce that we were recently recognized as a nominee for the 17th Annual Chicago Innovation Awards, held each year to celebrate innovators within the Chicago-ecosystem.
BIOLIFE4D was nominated in the Health & Medicine category for the innovation behind the development of our 3D bioprinted cardiac patch, revealed earlier this summer. An industry-first, BIOLIFE4D successfully printed a cardiac patch containing multiple cell types of which the human heart is made of rather than just cardiomyocytes and included vascularization. This milestone was achieved in just a few days and much sooner than the 6-8 month timeline often referenced in scientific literature.
The nomination for the Annual Chicago Innovation Awards represents another achievement for our company as we see further development of our life-saving technology. To receive this recognition means people are taking notice of what we are accomplishing, and our mission is spreading.
The Chicago Innovation Awards have long been a positive platform for local startups and innovators to gain exposure and accelerate their businesses – the past 42 winners that have been acquired have combined for $85 billion in exits.
