You can 3-D print chocolate, parts of an airplane, even skin. But what about a human heart? So far, printing one that’s transplant-worthy has been an elusive goal for researchers and companies, despite rapid advancements in technology.
Enter Steven Morris, founder and CEO of Skokie Startup BioLife4D. He’s busy assembling a team, adding talent from the likes of Carnegie Mellon University, Northwestern University and the Texas Heart Institute, a pioneer in heart transplants. He’s also raising lots of cash—up to $50 million through crowdfunding.
