Treating the Immune System to Fight an Autoimmune Disorder

With an Autoimmune disorder, the individual affected will have tissue of the body attacked and damaged. An autoimmune Disease is created due to an immune deficiency. The body does not have the ability to fight invaders such as viruses or bacteria. An unknown trigger will be in the body that will cause the immune system to produce antibodies that attack the tissues in the body. In someone without an autoimmune disease, the antibodies would actually fight the infection. In the case of an autoimmune disorder, the condition must be treated based on reducing the activity of the immune system.

So, what are examples of autoimmune diseases? Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and inflammatory bowel disease are three examples of diseases affected by the immune system. With rheumatoid arthritis, the immune system will create antibodies that affect the linings of the joints. The cells of the immune system will attack the joints, where inflammation takes place as well as pain and swelling. Permanent damage to the joints can take place if the condition is left untreated.

With lupus, the tissues of the body will develop an attachment of autoimmune antibodies. Lupus affects several areas of the body including blood cells, kidneys, lungs, nerves, etc. Treatment must be provided to reduce the function of the immune system, so the body is not affected negatively.

A third example is inflammatory bowel disease. With this condition, the immune system will attack the intestine lining. As the intestines are affected, it can cause rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss and other effects. Treatment is needed to suppress the immune system, so such side effects are avoided.

Treatment

With any autoimmune disease, the goal is to find a way to treat the symptoms of the condition, as there is no cure for such diseases. There are alternative options for treatment that many feel help to suppress the immune system. From herbal medication to hypnosis and acupuncture, there are several ways to work on the symptoms of an autoimmune disease. One alternative treatment that can be used to fight autoimmune diseases is IV therapy. This treatment type can be customized to the patient to provide nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to fight the symptoms of the autoimmune disease.

Once diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, one needs to research treatment options to determine the best option to suppress symptoms of the disease. IV therapy is a great alternative choice that has proven to assist such autoimmune diseases like Psoriasis, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Crohn’s disease.
