The Trade Group is proud to announce we have been selected as one of Dallas/Fort Worth’s “Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in 2017” under The National Association for Business Resources (NABR). The Best and Brightest competition “strives to recognize the most influential, trend-setting companies across the country and regionally in focused programs.”

According to their website, “The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® competition identifies and honors organizations that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource practices and Employee enrichment.”

The Trade Group was awarded the title among other select companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth region. Employees within each business were sent a survey inquiring about their personal experience with the company and how well it functions based on criteria such as “communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more.” We are invited to celebrate with all other winning companies in a regional event on January 23, 2017 at the Dallas Arboretum.

We were also encouraged to submit a minute-long video as part of a social media contest, showcasing our company culture and why we are one of the best and brightest companies to work for, which of course we jumped at the chance. Take a look at just some of the fun we have, not only with each other, but also coming together to give back to our community.

So, what makes The Trade Group an awesome place to work?

By implementing a program called “You Earned It,” TTG employees are able to say “thanks” and send rewards points to each other. Qualifying point amounts can be exchanged for various prizes like Amazon gift cards, coffee from your boss or even a day off!

Holidays

Holidays are special at TTG—employees are encouraged to dress up, decorate, get into the spirit for Halloween, Thanksgiving and especially Christmas! We host company luncheons for all employees, a Secret Santa gift exchange and throw an extravagant holiday party the week before Christmas. Dinner and drinks are served at a fancy venue and everyone dances the night away clothed in their holiday best.

Field Trips/Events

Good times aren’t reserved just for the holiday season. We can get competitive with game outings like Whirly Ball—a mashup of bumper cars, basketball and field hockey—but it’s still all fun and games. Every year, the design team goes out for a day trip to view art galleries and other inspirations for design around Dallas (we want our creative minds to keep up the fresh ideas for new exhibit designs and features). Another annual event is the company retreat to Circle R Ranch every summer, where families are invited to relax and enjoy wagon rides, face painting, volleyball and more!

Charity Involvement

Not only do we care about our employees, we care about our community as well. Every Christmas, we organize what we call “Angel Tree,” where we select a family in need to buy presents for in order to make their holiday overflow with joy and giving. Each employee picks a gift (written on an ornament) to purchase for a member of the family. After the wrapping party (to wrap all the presents, of course), we personally deliver all the gifts to the family!

In 2016, we also teamed up with a unique Dallas-based charity to contribute to their cause. Special Family TV is an internet radio and television station that is broadcasted in Spanish to educate and reach out to Hispanic families with special needs children. The organization was launched by Rosalba Pena, who felt a lack of community support when she had her son (he was diagnosed with severe autism). She sought to increase awareness for her program, and through a connection via her husband, she asked The Trade Group for help. We provided her organization with an exhibit free of charge, which has helped Rosalba impact more families beyond the DFW region.

The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® has partnered this year with Irving Cares for their community give-back program. We are proud to participate in this community project and have committed to bring requested items for the hygiene kits being created to give those who are in need.

We love working at The Trade Group.  Not only do we enjoy bringing trade shows and events to life, but we enjoy and appreciate each other as well.  Who could ask for more?
