A new feature was recently introduced in OM Plus Delivery Manager 2.9.0. Plus Technologies is excited to announce the ability to use the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) for receiving print and output data.

Applications can send secured print output via an IPP defined print queue. OM Plus will then intercept and ingest that data, apply advanced print management features, and intelligently route the output to an appropriate printer destination.

Why do customers need an IPP service for OM Plus Delivery Manager?

The new IPP service allows OM Plus Delivery Manager to receive print and output data via a secure web service from any location. All the advanced print management features such as confirmation of print, intelligent job routing, print failover, and notification can be applied. This service works with all operating system platforms that support the IPP protocol such as Windows, UNIX, and LINUX.

How does the IPP Service for OM Plus Delivery Manager work?

As an example, an Oracle ERP SaaS application can send data to a printer defined in the application. That SaaS print queue is configured to use IPP protocol for delivery. Delivery Manager listens and waits until there is data ready to process. Delivery Manager securely receives the data, applies the appropriate print management functions to the data, and successfully delivers the output to the print device.
