How to Overcome your Fear of Speaking in Public

It's time to deliver the quarterly report to the C-Suite. A small crowd of imposing faces, they're your boss's bosses and you want to make a good impression. Settled comfortably in your chair, you blend into the background as your more seasoned peers deliver their updates and presentations, guided seamlessly by their PowerPoints. You try to take copious notes, but all you can do is run through your presentation in your head. You need to persuade the team that the project you have been working on is important and deserves their attention.
Suddenly, the speaker changes course and is looking in your direction. You feel tempted to look over your shoulder- surely he is looking at someone behind you? -but this notion is quickly dismissed as every eye in the room is trained on you. A light seems to come out of nowhere, spotlighting your reddening face, and you feel beads of sweat forming on your forehead. Sounding far away, you hear the speaker’s voice inviting you to address the executives, and the room begins to swim in and out of focus.
The average person lists public Speaking as one of their worst fears, fearing it more than heights, small spaces, bugs, and in some cases, even death. Mark Twain quipped, “There are two types of speakers: those who get nervous and those who are liars.” Some may manage well enough, given time to prepare and practice, but many of us will, at some point, find ourselves in the spotlight with no advanced notice. The inability to perform effective public speaking can severely hinder your personal and professional life. So what can you do?
Our Focus® Method will enable you to think on your feet, and overcome the common obstacles that keep you from speaking confidently and effectively in a variety of situations, including meetings, presentations, and discussions. Focus® will take you step by step through each common concern, including blanking out, not sounding credible, not having appropriate information with you, and deciding what information and message to convey. Guided by how humans use and translate information to memory, Focus® will also help you convey the right information, so that your message is received and remembered. Additionally, Focus® will help improve your listening skills, engage your audience, and develop your own personal eloquence.
Focus® gives you the tools and techniques that will enable you to be prepared, at any time, to handle public speaking, in any situation, enabling you to speak confidently and effectively without ever losing focus again!
