Brooke and Steven Tied The Knot At Capitol Theatre in Tennessee

For Steven and Brooke, choosing their Wedding venue was easy! These two lovebirds love going to the movies and eating popcorn, so getting married at the historic Capitol Theatre was the ultimate win-win! The Capitol Theatre is the epitome of old Hollywood glamour, making it the perfect backdrop for a wedding.

Here’s an intimate look at the Real Wedding of Brooke and Steven.

THE PROPOSAL

[My husband and I] were high school sweethearts. We had gym class to together and rode the same bus.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. He was home on leave for Christmas 2016 when he proposed at my house one night by the Christmas tree.

GETTING READY

I went to Gilded Gown to get an idea of what kind of dress I would like and I fell in love with three completely different dresses. I went back a second time with my niece, nephews, and mom to show them the options.

Option one was a winter wonderland dress, option two was actually a prom dress (with a wedding look) and option three was the traditional dress. Everyone agreed on option three. The chosen dress matched the vision my mom and I had: long flowy train, just enough sparkle, elegant.

My bouquet was a brooch bouquet. All the pieces were family heirlooms. A couple pieces were even given to me from a few close friends.

THE CEREMONY

Our first date we went to the movies to see Casino Royale. We love going to the movies, are obsessed with eating popcorn, so the theatre really represented us.

We didn’t have any specific [wedding] style. Our wedding style included everything we like. Theatre, popcorn, BBQ, friends, and family.

THE RECEPTION

Our wedding favors were actually popcorn bags. The groom’s cake was a taco bell hot sauce packet. Taco Bell is our go-to food place and he loves hot sauce. We always read every packet and see if any of them resemble our relationship.

We bought the popcorn bags and tags off Etsy and then purchased popcorn from a local store. The day before the wedding we made the popcorn bags. We also made the chalkboard signs that were displayed.

Part of the wedding package included our names on the theatre marquee so we took a lot of pictures in front to include the signage.
