TAB Style – NYBFW Spring ‘18: Detailed Ballgowns with Peter…

TAB Style – NYBFW Spring ‘18: Detailed Ballgowns with Peter LangnerPeter Langner is probably one of my favorite classic aesthetic designers. Whether he’s working with prints or tonal designs, there’s something about his eye that makes his designs stand out. For his Spring ‘18 collection, the international designer focused exclusively on wedding gowns – unlike previous seasons where he would also unveil bridesmaids styles. But what I specifically loved about his collection this time was that practically every ballgown or full a-line silhouette featured highly embellished details. And considering that the ballgown silhouette is a staple in the bridal world, it’s no small feat to make a traditional style look unique! Note how not one of these styles is just a plain gown. Even when not using tonal or textural differences, there are pintucks, pleating or gathering effects to create visual stimulation.
